Apple Cinnamon Rolls
Soft, buttery cinnamon rolls swirled with warmly spiced apples and topped with salted caramel icing—this is breakfast that feels like a hug. Make them the night before and wake up to pure comfort.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 medium apples, peeled and finely diced
- 3 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
- Sea salt for topping
Method:
- Mix flours, yeast, salt, and sugar in a large bowl. Whisk warm milk, melted butter, and egg together, then combine with dry ingredients until shaggy dough forms.
- Knead for 5–8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let rise 1 hour until doubled.
- Roll dough into a 12x8-inch rectangle. Spread softened butter over surface.
- Toss diced apples with cinnamon and brown sugar, then scatter over butter evenly.
- Roll tightly from the long side and cut into 8 rolls. Place in a greased baking dish, cover, and refrigerate overnight (or let rise 30 minutes at room temperature).
- Bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes until golden. Drizzle with caramel and sprinkle sea salt while still warm.

Chef's tip: Make these the night before and store in the fridge—they'll proof slowly overnight, giving you a more tender, complex-flavored roll. Just bake fresh in the morning and your kitchen will smell incredible.
