Satay Chicken Legs with Peanut Sauce

Sticky-glazed drumsticks with a rich, nutty peanut dipping sauce—this is finger food that tastes like you spent hours in the kitchen but takes just minutes of hands-on work.

Ingredients:

  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • ¼ cup coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp chili paste
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • Sesame seeds and cilantro for serving

Method:

  1. Mix soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil. Coat drumsticks and roast at 220°C for 35–40 minutes until golden and cooked through, turning halfway.
  2. While chicken roasts, whisk peanut butter, coconut milk, lime juice, chili paste, and sugar until smooth. Thin with water if needed.
  3. Brush drumsticks with extra marinade in the last 5 minutes for a glossy finish.
  4. Transfer to a platter, sprinkle with sesame seeds and cilantro, and serve with peanut sauce for dunking.

Chef's tip: Don't skip the final brush of marinade—those last five minutes in the oven create the sticky, caramelized exterior that makes these irresistible.
