Cilantro Lime Sauce

This creamy, zesty sauce is the weeknight secret weapon that transforms simple tacos, bowls, and grilled chicken into something genuinely crave-worthy—fresh cilantro and lime brightness balanced with rich sour cream and a whisper of heat.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro, packed
  • Zest and juice of 1 lime
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and roughly chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2–3 tablespoons water (to reach desired consistency)

Method:

  1. Add sour cream, cilantro, lime zest and juice, jalapeño, and garlic to a food processor or blender.
  2. Pulse until smooth and creamy, scraping down sides as needed.
  3. Stir in cumin, then taste and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add water a tablespoon at a time to loosen if too thick.
  5. Serve immediately, or refrigerate up to 4 days.

Chef's tip: Don't skip seeding the jalapeño if you prefer gentler heat—the real magic is in the fresh cilantro and lime, so let those shine without overwhelming anyone at your table.
